Palu on the mend for Waratahs opener

The Wallabies and the Waratahs have been boosted by the news that following their bruising tour of Europe, loose forward Wycliff Palu is expected to be available for the start of next year’s Super 14 competition.

The Wallabies paid a hefty price for their most successful tour in recent years as they had five injured players sent home.

Of the most serious injuries props Matt Dunning and Sekope Kepu suffered the most and they look likely to face lengthy stints out injured after the match against the Barbarians at Wembley.

Palu had been expected to be out of action for lengthy time after hurting his shoulder but medical staff now say that the injury was responding well to treatment and that he should be fit to face the Hurricanes in the opening round on the 14th of February.
