The Brisbane public will have their chance to farewell retired QR Queensland Reds player Elton Flatley this week as an oversized replica Reds jersey does the rounds.

Fans can write a message to Elton on the jersey which will then be presented to him after the match against the Stormers on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.

Elton will then do a lap of honour around the ground with his team mates.

The jersey’s first public appearance will be this Thursday at the Rebel Sport Store in the Queen St Mall from 12.30-2pm. Reds skipper John Roe and team mates Julian Huxley, Steve Kefu and Stephen Moore will also be appearing in-store for a signing session.

On Friday morning train commuters will have their chance to leave a farewell message for Flats when the jersey appears in the Red Zone at Central Station from 7-8.30am.

Fans will also be able to sign the jersey at the Northern end of Suncorp Stadium prior to the match on Friday night.

Gates open at 5pm.
