The Springboks will play Argentina in at Ellis Park in Johannesburg in 2008.

The Argentina Rugby Union has reported that the date was officially confirmed after an invitation by the South African Rugby Union was sent out.

The date has not been set as yet and at this stage the match will take place some time between the 2 and 9 August and will be part of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela.

The date coincides with a period of rest and preseason preparation for the Pumas players who play for clubs in the Northern Hemisphere so the UAR, through its President, Porfirio Carreras, are in negotiations with the National Rugby League in France in order to achieve the release of players for the match with South Africa.

The match will not be part of the TriNations but will be played alongside it as a kind of trial.
