The Crusaders went through Saturday night’s 47-21 victory over the Queensland Reds without any major injuries. Three players ‘ Kevin Senio, Andrew Ellis and Mose Tuiali’i ‘ suffered minor injuries but Crusaders doctor Tony Page expected all three to be available for next Saturday’s match against the Sharks in Timaru.

Page said that Ellis had a rib cartilage injury and would miss training early in the week. Senio (bruised hip) and Tuiali’i (bruised thigh) would sit out training tomorrow and would be assessed before training on Tuesday, said Page.

Meanwhile the QR Queensland Reds finally have some good news after x-rays today cleared halfback Sam Cordingley and centre Julian Huxley of serious injury.

It was feared Cordingley (collarbone) and Huxley (jaw) would be sidelined, adding to the Reds growing injury list.

But coach Jeff Miller is confident the pair will be fit to play against the Blues on Saturday night.

Cordingley hurt his shoulder in the last play of the game while Huxley’s injury came about when making a tackle with about 20 minutes to go.

Having broken his jaw in 2004, Huxley was relieved to be given the all clear today.

‘It’s a bit sore and swollen but it’s OK,’ Huxley said. ‘I’ll be fine to play on Saturday.’
