Reds lock Adam Byrnes has been cleared of a striking charge at a judicial hearing in Brisbane on Thursday night.

Byrnes was cited after the Waratahs called for an investigation into an incident involving Waratahs lock Chris Thomson in a trial match between the Reds and Waratahs in Toowoomba on Saturday night.

After conducting the hearing at QRU offices, SANZAR judicial officer Paul Tully dismissed the charge.
