QR Queensland Reds and Wallaby hooker Stephen Moore will miss at least four weeks of rugby and possibly much longer after suffering a meniscus tear in his left knee in last night’s Investec Super 14 match against the ACT Brumbies.
Reds coach Eddie Jones said
‘Depending on the seriousness of the tear he could miss between four weeks and four months,’ Jones said.
Winger turned inside centre Peter Hynes missed the whole second half of last night’s match with a sprained ankle, and Jones said he was a ’50-50′ chance of taking the field this Saturday against the Blues in
Hynes was a surprise switch for Lloyd Johansson in the run-on team last night and performed strongly during the first half, defending well and making two mid-field breaks due to his powerful running and quick acceleration.
His second half replacement Johansson was sent from the field for a high tackle in the final 10 minutes of the match and was later suspended for two weeks on a dangerous tackle charge, posing a selection dilemma for Jones if Hynes is unable to play this weekend.
