Reds prop Ben Coutts to have shoulder reconstruction surgery




QR Queensland Reds prop forward Ben Coutts has been booked in for shoulder surgery this week that will put him out of action for up to six months.

Coutts was admitted to Brisbane‘s St Andrew’s hospital today for treatment of a superficial leg infection before undergoing a shoulder reconstruction later in the week.

His Reds team-mates left early this morning for Dunedin where they will play the Highlanders on Friday (kickoff 4:30pm Qld time) in Round 6 of the Investec Super 14 tournament.

Reds Academy and Wests prop Ernest Skelton was called into the squad as a replacement for Coutts while the Reds consider their front row options for the remainder of the season.
