Queensland A captain Ben Mowen has been included in the QR Queensland Reds squad to travel to South Africa this Saturday, after Hugh McMeniman was ruled out.

McMeniman has not played since he suffered nerve damage to his shoulder in the Reds game against the Chiefs in Hamilton over two weeks ago.

Today medical staff ruled that he would not be fit for the Reds next game against the Cheetahs and was no guarantee for the following game against the Sharks.

Steve Kefu was also drafted into the 26-man squad today following the retirement of Elton Flatley.

The squad flies out to South Africa early Saturday morning, 18th March for three matches against the Cheetahs, the Sharks and the Bulls.
