Reds beat Cheetahs in Brisbane




Super Rugby moves to Australia in the third match in Round 10 on Saturday as the Reds host the Cheetahs in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.

We are waiting for the kick off.

Clayton Blommetjies kicks off and the match is underway.

2.00:The Cheetahs win an early penalty. Zeilinga lines up the posts and nails it.

5.00; The Reds win a penalty back. McIntyre takes the kick and nails it to level the scores.

8.00: Another penalty. MacIntyre lines up the kick from 40m out line but in front. He misses.

11.00: The Cheetahs go through 8 phases on attack in the Reds 22 but then they  lose the ball forward. The Reds clear the ball.

15.00: Lots of stoppages in the match for injuries and so on. The Reds win the ball from a Cheetahs scrum and they run the ball. They run the ball wide and then knock on.

18.00: After 4 phases the Reds win a penalty for “over the top”. McIntyre kicks for touch to clear.

20.00: Penalty to the Reds from the scrum against the Cheetahs. McIntyre kicks for touch.

24.00: Lood de Jager gets some help from the medics.  After a short break he carries on.

26.00: There is a another break for an injury. Maks van Dyk comes off and Johan Coetzee comes on.

28.00: The Cheetahs work the ball through three phases but the whistle goes for the TMO to review a shoulder charge. Anthony Fainga’a is yellow carded and the Cheetahs kick for touch.

31.00: The Cheetahs go through 5 phases and then Raymond Rhule is tackled and loses the ball forward.

32.00: The Cheetahs attack down the wing as Sergeal Peterson gets tackled into touch. As he was tackled Peterson got the ball away but Liam Gill’s foot kicked in into touch and the Cheetahs get the line out throw.

34.00: The Cheeetahs win the line out and use the maul. They drive over and Uzair Cassiem scores. TRY!

35.00: Zeilinga adds the conversion.

36.00: The Reds win a penalty and they kick for touch. They set up a line out in the Cheetahs 22. The Reds win the line out. The Reds attack but a Cheetahs tackler does not release. Penalty.

37.00: The Reds kick to the corner again. The Reds win the line out again. The ball goes dead in the ruck – The Cheetahs get the scrum put in.

39.00: The scrum collapses as the field tears up. The scrum is moved. Again the scrum cannot complete. The siren sounds.

40.00: The Cheetahs appear to win the scrum push but the Reds come away with the ball and Curtis Browning scrambles for the line and scores. TRY!

41.00: Jake McIntyre takes the conversion kick. He nails it and the scores are level.

Its half time.

The Reds kick off and the second half is underway.

The Reds are back to 15 players.

42.00:Penalty to the Reds for an intentional knock down. The Reds kick for touch for the line out.

44.00: The Reds go through six phases and they get the ball to Samu Kerevi who offloads to Eto Nabuli. Nabuli runs down the line and passes back to Kerevi who offloads to Nick Frisby who scores. Great try.

46.00: McIntyre adds the conversion. Replays show a swinging arm from Paul Schoeman which is missed by the officials.

50.00: The Reds are called back for side entry by the Cheetahs. McIntyre will take a shot at the posts.

51.00: McIntyre is successful with the penalty.

52.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs. They kick for touch and the line out.

53.00; The Cheetahs win the line out and use the maul. The Cheetahs win another penalty for collapsing the maul by the Reds. They choose the line out again.

54.00:The Cheetahs win the line out but lose the ball forward.

59.00: The Reds win a line out in the Cheetahs half. They work the ball through 4 phases and the Cheetahs are caught offside. Penalty to the Reds.

60.00: McIntyre’s penalty kick is off to the left.

62.00: The Reds go through the phases on the attack. Kerevi gets them on the front foot and Slipper gets them to 5m out. Nick Frisby gets the ball and slips through a gap and scores. TRY!

63.00: McIntyre adds the conversion and the Reds have a comfortable lead. Kerevi comes off holding his arm.

67.00: Both teams bringing on replacements. The Cheetahs win a line out and run the ball in the Reds 22. They get into the Reds 22 as the Reds slip off tackles. After 6 phases the Cheetahs win a penalty. Liam Gill is shown a yellow card for cynical play.

69.00: The Cheetahs win the line out and suck in the defenders using the maul and then go wide and Raymond Rhule scores in the corner.

70.00: Zeilinga adds the conversion.

73.00: The Reds work the ball down into the Cheetahs half. A Cheetahs player is down. The Reds will have a scrum.

75.00: Penalty from the scrum to the Reds. McIntyre lines up the kick. He nails it.

78.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs. They kick to the corner. The Cheetahs win the line out and suck in the defenders. They go wide with a chip kick and there is a chase for the ball. The TMO is called in for foul play and a potential try in the corner. Willie Britz is yellow carded for throwing a punch. The Reds get a penalty and the try is ruled out due to the foul play before it. The Reds clear the ball into touch.

80.00: The Reds win the line out. They go through 6 phases and boot the ball into touch.
