Hurricanes beat Reds in Brisbane




Queensland Super Rugby side the Reds host the current Super Rugby champions the Hurricanes on Saturday. The Reds have played the Hurricanes 20 times in Super Rugby and won six matches.

The Hurricanes kick off and the match is underway.

2.00: The Reds win an early penalty from the scrum. the Reds kick for touch.

4.00: Penalty to the Reds. Jake McIntyre takes the kick but misses. To the left.

27.00: The Reds come close to scoring under the posts but the Hurricanes manage to keep them out.

28.00: The Reds win a scrum inside the Hurricanes 22 and they go wide as Scott Higginbotham sends a ball outwide to Chris Kuridrani who scores. TRY!

29.00: McIntyre misses the conversion.

34.00: The Reds go through 10 phases with the ball and Scott Higginbotham pops a ball out to Eto Nabuli who passes the ball back to him and Higginbotham scores. TRY!

35.00: McIntyre adds the conversion.

38.00: The Reds have the ball on attack in the Hurricanes 22. They go through the phases but it gets messy and the Hurricanes win a penalty.

40.00: The Hurricanes look dangerous but the siren sounds and the ball goes dead.

44.00: The Reds win the scrum and boot the ball back to the Hurricanes who kick it back to the Reds. Kerevi runs the ball but loses it and the Hurricanes chip behind and find touch.

Ardie Savea goes on a run, fakes a chip kick and gets almost to the line and offloads to Vince Aso who scores. TRY!

52.00: Julian Savea almost gets away for another try but the ball goes to ground as the Reds secure it and then lose it. He has to turn and gets to the ball and recycles it. The Hurricanes go wide and Mark Abbott almost scores in the corner but puts a foot in touch. No try.

53.00: The Hurricanes almost go over after the line out as the Reds knock the ball on. The ball is then knocked on again by the Hurricanes before they go over to score. The TMO confirms the knock on.

55.00: The Hurricanes get a free kick from the scrum. Perenara taps it in a flash and dives over to score. TRY ! Replays show there was no tap by the foot so the try is disallowed. The Canes still have a penalty and they choose a scrum.

57.00: The Reds defend the scrum and push the Hurricanes out of their 22.

61.00: the Hurricanes work the ball into the Reds 22 and up to the 5m line. Higginbotham wins the ball at the breakdown and the Reds clear the ball into touch.

63.00: High tackle from the Reds so the Hurricanes have a penalty. They kick for touch and set up the line out.

67.00: Penalty to the Hurricanes inside the Reds half. Jordie Barrett takes the shot and nails it. Hurricanes lead by 10.
