5.00: A knock-on by Hunter Paisami saves the day for the Western Force.

6.00: The Force wins the scrum-penalty allowing them to clear the danger.

8.00: The Reds win a kickable penalty, but they call for a scrum.

9.00: TRY! Tate McDermott scores from close range, he only got over because of some poor tackling from McIntyre, but the decision to take the scrum, instead of taking the points, pays off. 5-0

10.00: CONVERSION! James O’Connor adds the extras. 7-0

14.00: Good defending by Queensland to stop Byron Ralston on the wing, but a big scrum by the Force gives the visitors a shot at goal.

15.00: PENALTY! Jake McIntyre puts his team on the scoreboard. 7-3

17.00: TRY! Hunter Paisami bashes his way through the tackles to score his second Super Rugby AU try of his short career. Paisami broke the tackles before fending off Richard Kahui over the line. 12-3

18.00: CONVERSION! O’Connor makes no mistake. 14-3

20.00: TRY! Feleti Kaitu’u picks up from the ruck and bulldozes his way over the line. 14-8

21.00: CONVERSION! McIntyre slots the kick. 14-10

23.00: An eight-phase Reds attack ends with a knock-on inside the Force’s 22. Tomás Cubelli clears, but the advantage is over –– lineout to the home team on the 22.

24.00: Superb defending of the rolling maul by the Force’s forwards. The next attack goes nowhere because Sitaleki Timani wins the turnover penalty at the ruck.

26.00: Hunter Paisami wins the penalty after his centre partner Jordan Petaia makes the tackle, isolating the attacker.

28.00: Rob Kearney cleans up but the fullback is tackled into touch near his try line.

29.00: Nothing comes from another terrible rolling maul.

31.00: A comedy of errors ends with Fraser McReight knocking-on with an open try line. Kearney’s poor clearance hits Jock Campbell in the head, bounces into McReight’s arms, but the flanker drops the ball. everyone is laughing. Good times.

33.00: A big scrum by the Force’s front row wins the visitors a clearing penalty.

35.00: O’Connor drops a high kick under pressure from Sitaleki Timani giving the visitors an attacking scrum on the Reds’ 22.

36.00: Suliasi Vunivalu is pinged for a high tackle, he’s lucky he did not get a card for that shot. Force goes to the corner.

38.00: Fergus Lee-Warner loses the ball in contact; however, the Reds are offsides. Brynard Stander, strangely, opts for a shot at goal.

39.00: PENALTY! McIntyre reduces the gap to one point. 14-13

40.00: Queensland has a couple of attacks but cannot make any count.

41.00: PEEEEP! We are back underway at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.

43.00: The Reds must be careful here, they are not dominating the tight-phases, and the Force is starting to get the better of their lineout. This is not going to be a cakewalk.

45.00: Suliasi Vunivalu’s grubber is almost taken by McDermott, but the defender gets back in time. However, the Reds regain the ball, go wide before Angus Blyth throws a terrible pass to Taniela Tupou, who drops the ball. Scrum to the Force.

46.00: Massive scrum by the Reds, they win the penalty and kick to the corner.

47.00: NO TRY! Fraser McReight’s joy turns to dust because the TMO chalks off his try, and awarding the opposition a penalty for a knock-on and offside. I’m not sure what the ruling is for that. 14-13

49.00: Tim Sampson will be a pleased coach, his side is showing some nous as well as ticker, keeping the opposition in check. His forwards deserve credit for this display, although, there is a long way to go. Holmes leaves the field to a rousing reception.

51.00: PENALTY! McIntyre puts his team in front. Wow! 14-16

52.00: TRY! Paisami has a second. It came from a turnover by Tupou. McDermott goes left to Paisami, who throws a dummy, sending Tomás Cubelli for a coke and a smile. The centre ghosted through the gap, untouched, to score. 19-16

53.00: MISS! O’Connor with a rare miss. 19-16

55.00: The Force can level here if they take the shot at goal.

57.00: PENALTY! McIntyre is on fire! 19-19

58.00: Bryce Hegarty knocks-on with the try line at his mercy! What are you doing, Bryce!

61.00: Western Force wins a relieving penalty on their try line, and clear.

65.00: There is some niggle in this game, but both teams keeping composed.

67.00: TRY! Vunivalu takes McDermott’s ball, beats two tackles, fends off the helpless Jack McGregor, and sends Jock Campbell away in the corner. 24-19

69.00: CONVERSION! O’Connor adds the two. 26-19

73.00: It’s all Reds, but they cannot finish off the opposition.

77.00: Sampson’s men are on the attack, they need a converted try to take this game to extra time.

79.00: McIntyre boots the penalty to the corner. Here we go!

81.00: The Force power towards the Reds’ line, the hooter sounds, but the ball is not coming from the ruck.

82.00: Brandon Paenga-Amosa wins the penalty at the breakdown, saving his team their blushes. Hegarty boots the ball into the stands. GAME OVER!
