Sharks Director of Rugby Gary Gold have named his Super Rugby team to play the Hurricanes and included Patrick Lambie on the replacements bench.

Lambie has yet to play this Super Rugby season as he was injured in the pre-season warm ups but will come off the bench this week.

Sharks captain Beast Mtawarira was rested against the Chiefs last week but he returns to the starting side.

Franco Marais comes in at hooker with Chiliboy Ralepelle as back up on the replacements bench.

The backline is unchanged so Garth April gets a third consecutive start and Michael Claasens retains his starting place.

“We have a massive challenge coming up this weekend against a star-studded Hurricanes team, who have just come off a resounding victory against the Lions,” said Director of Rugby Gold.

“This team is lethal with ball in hand and we have a huge amount of respect for them. They will pose a similar challenge to the other three New Zealand teams that we faced on tour, and that too with added confidence after their great victory, makes them even more formidable.

“It’s fantastic to be back home and to play in front of our home crowd. This is the fourth New Zealand team we are playing in succession and we are excited about the challenge that lies ahead. ”

“We want to build on our courageous performance against the Chiefs last Friday, and our focus is on being accurate and utilising our opportunities.”,
