The Sharks overcame a seven-point half-time deficit to eventually record a 27-17 bonus-point win over the Pumas in an unattractive third round Currie Cup clash in Durban.

Despite dominating the opening exchanges, the Sharks conceded the first try in the 18th minute when Pumas No 8 Christo le Roux barged through numerous tackles to go over.

Flyhalf Ricardo Croy converted to make it 7-0 . Sharks try-scoring machine Keegan Daniel eventually helped restore parity as he scored on the half hour mark, with Pat Lambie adding the extra two.

Croy and Lambie then traded a drop-goal and penalty respectively to keep the score even, before Pumas prop scored a try late in the half to ensure the visitors enjoyed a 17-10 lead at half-time.

The Sharks came out fighting, though, and scrumhalf Charl McLeod scored under the posts early on, and the easy conversion to Lambie tied the scores once again.

Not long after, Daniel once again burst round the side from a driving maul as the Sharks eventually edged their way into a lead. Daniel then went over for his hat-trick late in the game to secure the bonus-point and five log points for the Sharks.
