Sharks injuries mount ahead of Super Rugby start

The Sharks have revealed that their successful two match tour of France as preparation for the 2016 Super Rugby season has come at a price through injuries.

The Sharks beat Toulon and and Toulouse in their warm ups but a number of players will miss the start of the proper season due to injuries sustained on tour.

Sharks captain Patrick Lambie has already had surgery (Monday) after being diagnosed with an AC joint dislocation on the right shoulder and is expected to miss 12 weeks of Rugby.

The Sharks new signing from the Waratahs Jacques Potgieter has an ankle injury and will be out for approximately 6/8 weeks.

Ruan Botha has a hip labral tear and having undergone surgery yesterday will be out for approximately 12 weeks.

Giant Mtyanda sustained a nasal bone fracture and is expected to be out for three weeks.

Francois Kleinhans tore his left bicep muscle and had surgery last Friday. He has been ruled out for approximately 12 weeks.

Renaldo Bothma has a suspected foot injury and will undergo scans before a prognosis is formed.

On the positive side Jean Deysel will resume training this week along with Inny-Christian Radebe, Tera Mtembu, Stephan Lewies, Thomas du Toit.
