Sharks lose Lambie for six weeks due to injury

Durban Super Rugby franchise the Sharks have suffered a further blow to their
2015 Super Rugby campaign as flyhalf Patrick Lambie has been ruled out for six

The Sharks have had a difficult month on and off the field as they have lost
a number of their stars to suspension and now injuries are hitting the team.

Lambie was the Sharks replacement captain after Bismarck du Plessis was suspended
but had to leave the field on Saturday after taking a heavy tackle from a Crusaders

The Sharks flyhalf has a neck vertebrae injury and although he does not need
surgery he is expected to miss the next six weeks of Super Rugby including the
Sharks overseas tour.

The Durban side are already without Frans Steyn (suspension) so without Lambie
head coach Gary Gold will rely heavily on Fred Zeilinga.

“When it rains it pours! ” a frustrated Gold told the Star.

"It is a big blow to lose a player of Pat’s calibre. He has been
a stand-out player this season and is a big part of our leadership group. He
is a very respected player in the squad. “

Lambie missed much of the 2014 Super Rugby season with a torn bicep.
