The Sharks were lucky to come away with a draw last week against the Hurricanes. They didn’t perform too well and although they are still on the road they will be looking at the Highlanders as an opportunity to get back into shape.

2.00: Toby Morland looked to be away after an intercept but Ruan Pienaar manged to get back and prevent the try from being scored.

 

7.00: Paul Williams broke through the Shark’s defence and passed the ball to Fetu’u Vainikolo who powered over to score the first points of the match.

 

8.00: James Wilson converted the try from a fair way out.

 

12.00; The Sharks gave a penalty away so James Wilson took a shot at goal from 42 metres out but missed.

 

18.00: The Highlanders were next to give a penalty so Ruan Pienaar had a shot at goal and slotted a penalty to put the Sharks on the board.

 

19.00: Fetu’u Vainikolo runs round Frans Steyn and gets the ball out quickly for Clint Newland who scores the Highlanders second try.  

 

20.00: James Wilson slotted the conversion.

 

28.00: Frans Steyn breaks and catches the Highlanders defence off gaurd and they give away a penalty. Ruan Pienaar takes the shot at goal and slots it.

 

33.00: After a good attacking spell, the Sharks score their first try as Jacques Botes dives over the line.

 

34.00: Ruan Pienaar took the conversion but sent it wide to the right.

 

37.00: The Highlanders set up some good attacking position but the Sharks give away a penalty. James Wilson takes the shot at goal and slots it.

 

40.03: The siren goes.

56.00: Frans Steyn took a penalty shot at goal from 51m out and slotted it to give the Sharks the lead for the first time.
