It’s been a funny season for the Chiefs. Just three weeks ago they were on a charge for the finals with many saying they were going to be crowned champions.

The match is underway.


16.00: The Chiefs came close to scoring as Sosene Anesi charged down the line. Everyone thought the ball had gone out but it hadn’t so the Sharks took the ball and ran it down field and only a last gasp tackle stopped Kankowski from scoring.


19.00: Ruan Pienaar playing at number 10 saw a gap and dived through it to score the first points of the match.


20.00: Rory Kockott slotted the conversion.


23.00: An upfield kick from Pienaar is chased up by the Sharks and eventually Adrian Jacobs scores the Sharks second try.


25.00: Rory Kockott puts over the conversion.


28.00: The Chiefs almost scored their first points from an intercept but JP Pietersen managed to get back for the tackle and stop the move.


33.00: The Chiefs finally got on the scoreboard as Faifili Levave drives over the line for the try.


34.00: Stephen Donald took the conversion and it bounced off the upright.


35.00: A lucky bounce from the restart sees the Sharks score their third try of the match as Bismarck du Plessis charges for the line.


37.00: Rory Kockott slots the conversion.


39.00: A penalty against Adi Jacobs sees Stephen Donald take a shot at goal for a penalty whcih he slots.


40.00: The siren goes for half time.

The second half is underway.


43.00: The Chiefs start the second half in a much better way as they put ten phases together and Mils Muliaina charges through the Sharks defence pushing off several tackles.


44.00: Stephen Donald converts the try.


46.00: The Chiefs are right back in this match and pressure forces the Sharks into a mistake and they give away a penalty. Stephen Donald slots the kick reducing the lead to 3.


50.00: The Sharks get the bonus point try as Steven Sykes dives over the line for the Durban team.


51.00: Rory Kockott slots the conversion.  


54.00: Stefan Terblanche puts in a try saving tackle on Stephen Donald.


57.00: Mils Muliaina gets tackled and in the tackle he injures his ankle but limps on.


61.00: Broken play sees the Sharks score the fifth try as Ryan Kankowski dives over behind the posts.


62.00: Rory Kockott slots the conversion.  


66.00: The Chiefs get the overlap and all they had to do was catch the ball but Callum Bruce drops it from the pass and the try goes begging.


68.00: Jean Deysel took a quick tap and they run the ball the length of the field and Ryan Kankowski runs in the Sharks sixth try for a great team try.


68.00: Rory Kockott slots the conversion.  


71.00: The floodgates look like they are opening as the Sharks score another try – this time it’s Odwa Ndungane.


72.00: Rory Kockott took the conversion but missed.


74.00: The Chiefs gave away a penalty so Rory Kockott took the penalty shot in order to eat up time and bring up the 50 point mark. He missed.  


77.00: The Sharks gets a warning for late and dangerous tackles. The Chiefs are awarded a penalty so they run the ball. The Sharks turn it over.


80.44: The Chiefs get a free kick and Viliame Waqaseduadua runs in a consolation try.


81.00: Stephen Donald slots the conversion and the whistle goes for full time.
