  • Only the Crusaders (25) have conceded fewer total tries than the Sharks (31) in Super Rugby 2019, although, Robert du Preez’s side has conceded a joint-league-low 16 second-half tries.
  • Wes Goosen has crossed for a try in every one of his previous three Super Rugby games in South Africa; though, this will be his first visit to the Shark Tank.

.00: PEEEEP! We are underway on South Africa’s east coast on a warm winter’s day in Durban.

.00: The Sharks win an early penalty at the ruck. Curwin Bosch, who has cemented his spot at flyhalf, will take a shot.

.00: MISS! He misses from distance, but there is a stiff breeze swirling around the famous ground. 0-0

.00: A scuffle breaks out after Dan du Preez’s storming run ends with a knock on.

.00: The teams are fielding nine Springboks and All Blacks in their match-day squads. The first scrum is reset, which is standard these days.

.00: CONVERSION! No problem for Beauden Barrett. 0-7

.00: The sharks attack from the restart, but a try-saving intervention from the Canes, halts the attack; however, the visitors are offsides. Bosch calls for the tee.

.00: A good clearance from the hosts gives them some breathing space. The Durbanites are under the pump, here. Nic Berry is checking for foul play by Matt Proctor on Aphelele Fassi. It is a high tackle, the penalty is for the Sharks. Bosch kicks to the corner.
