5.00: Oosthuizen is down and is being checked by the medics. The Sharks won the penalty, and Rob du Preez kicks into the Reds’ 22.
6.00: Some sloppy play by the home team lets the Australians off the hook. The hosts come back, Du Preez sends the ball wide, but Lwazi Mvovo knocks on the flyhalf’s poor pass.
8.00: A solid first scrum by the Reds allows Tate McDermott to clear into the opposition’s 22.
9.00: Louis Schreuder can only clear to his 22. Queensland has a good attacking opportunity.
10.00: Good defending by Andre Esterhuizen, who holds up Hamish Stewart in the tackle and wins the turnover.

15.00: Samu Kerevi is offsides at the ruck allowing Du Preez to kick to the corner.
16.00: Izack Rodda comes in from the side. The Sharks opt to turn down the three, going for another lineout.
17.00: Another wasted opportunity from the hosts. Angus Scott-Young comes away with possession, and the visitors clear up the field.
18.00: The Reds’ defending has been excellent; they’re attacking the ball while the other defender goes low. Robert du Preez’s side has been poor in possession.
20.00: TRY! Outstanding line-break by Kerevi. The try came from a collapsed rolling maul. Kerevi attacked Rob du Preez, beating the weak tackle before offloading to Chris Feauai-Sautia to score under the posts. 0-12

23.00: The Durbanites have been poor with the ball in hand and the Aussies have punished them. Another knock on in contact snuffs out an attack.
24.00: BIG SCRUM! Harry Hoopert scrums inwards; penalty to the hosts. They turn down the three again, opting for a lineout drive.
25.00: TRY! A powerful driving maul by the Sharks sees van Vuuren flop over the whitewash for his side’s first try. Turning down the three has finally paid off. 5-14
26.00: CONVERSION! Du Preez splits the uprights. 7-14
27.00: Stewart cannot take Schreuder’s box-kick, knocking on near halfway.
30.00: The Reds win a penalty after a great counter-ruck on halfway. The Sharks give away possession too easily, allowing the visitors to clear the danger. Tupou was the man who won the penalty. Hegarty sets up a lineout inside the opposition’s 22.
31.00: Good defence by the South Africans. Liam Wright loses the ball forward in contact after a seven-phase attack inside the Sharks’ 22.
33.00: If the Queensland handling was better, they’d be up by more. It’s Sefa Naivalu’s turn to knock on inside the opposition’s 22.
34.00: Daniel du Preez’s strong run sets up his skipper for a box-kick. It’s another superbly weighted kick by the captain that Sbu Nkosi gathers. Nkosi beat two Reds to the ball and kick-started a counter that was botched by Mvovo.
36.00: Free kick to the Reds for a pre-engagement by the Sharks’ front row.
38.00: Hyron Andrews cleans up a loose ball at the ruck, setting up a counter-attack down the right-hand sideline. Some good interplay by Esterhuizen and Nkosi ends when Curwin Bosch knocks on a poor pass by the centre.
39.00: Schreuder snags McDermott but Naivalu cleans up. hegarty clears, however, he does not find touch allowing the Sharks to run the ball, back.
40.00: The hooter sounds as the Reds win the turnover. Hegarty kicks for his winger, but the ball is out into touch.

41.00: PEEEEP! We are back underway for the second half in Durban, South Africa where the Reds lead the Sharks. The visitors have not won on the east coast since their dour 5-6 victory in 2004.

53.00: The Saffas have been poor in contact, and as bad with their passing. Their errors kill every attack. The Reds are defending the one-off runners with ease.
55.00: JP Smith knocks on in contact after finding himself one-on-one on the wing. The Sharks go wide but are isolated at the ruck where Wright wins the penalty. Hegarty kicks to the 22.
57.00: Scott-Young carries with conviction, taking his team 15 metres from the original lineout before the Reds win a penalty. The Reds have the upper hand at the breakdown.
58.00: The Sharks survive a bizarre call by Mr Federico Anselmi, who seemed to jump the gun with his maul call. It looks a worse call on the replay because he gave the Reds no time to recycle.
59.00: Kobus van Wyk goes to the wing and Marius Louw comes in at outside centre after Rob du Preez leaves. Bosch goes to flyhalf and Aphelele Fassi to fullback.
60.00: TRY! McDermott crosses after gathering Scott Higginbotham’s pass. Hegarty made the initial break after some good work by Kerevi, who started it all yet again. 7-19
60.00: CONVERSION! Stewart takes over the kicking duties, slotting the easy kick. 7-21
64.00: Queensland has taken control of this game. They are dominating both the tight and the loose. The Sharks have no answer.
67.00: Kerevi’s brilliant kick pass to Jock Campbell cannot be gathered. It would have been goodnight nurse for the hosts had he caught the ball.
68.00: BIG SCRUM! The Reds’ forwards win the penalty after demolishing their opposition.
69.00: The Reds opt for a lineout, setting up the maul. But, some outstanding defence by Louw, saves his side’s blushes. Sharks are still in this; just.
71.00: The Sharks mount a rare sustained attack inside the opposition’s half. What do they have inside them?
72.00: Nothing; another knock on flies into touch.
75.00: Some sustained pressure by the Sharks earns them a penalty. They go to the lineout but the maul is sacked.
76.00: They get another penalty which Bosch kicks out on the 5m. It’s now or never.
78.00: Superb defence by the Reds. It was a dominant driving maul, but the home team was held up after they crossed the line.
