Super14 Chiefs player Sitiveni Sivivatu is in the news again but this time a woman has claimed that she was inappropriately touched by a man her friends tell her was Sivivatu.

Sitiveni Sivivatu has strongly denied being involved in the alleged sexual assault in an Auckland bar in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Newstalk ZB  reported that a woman had accused the 25-year-old winger of indecently assaulting her at an Auckland bar.

On Tuesday afternoon the tale took another turn and Newstalk ZB said the woman was unsure about the identity of the man who allegedly assaulted her.

The NZHerald  says that in media statement issued through the Chiefs, Sivivatu said he was at his Hamilton home with his wife when the alleged assault was said to have taken place.

He said he would co-operate with police and provide them with details of his movements.

Sivivatu said he had left Hamilton at 5am Sunday to drive to Waiuku to pick up a car and returned about 8.30am that morning.

A police spokesperson confirmed an incident was being looked into but could not confirm the identity of the man involved.
