Southern Kings head coach Deon Davids is sweating over the availability of two of his players who suffered concussion in the match against the Hurricanes in Wellington.
Kings wing Luzuko Vulindlu had to leave the field at the end of the first half in the 37th minute for a concussion test, and was replaced by JP du Plessis.
Then in the second half Elgar Watts came on to replace Du Plessis in the 60th minute, as Du Plessis had also sustained a concussion.
Davids says that both players are still being assessed.
“We also have a few other niggles following the tour, but the players are being seen to by our medical staff and are being attended to,” he said on the Kings site.
The Kings play Japan’s Sunwolves in Port Elizabeth on Saturday and Davids says the two players who were sent home early from New Zealand Schalk Ferreira and Thembelani Bholi, were also being assessed for this week’s match.
