There are, however, some players returning from injury which bolster the side.
Big-booted fullback Conrad Jantjes returns from injury to take the number 15 jersey, whilst Brent Russell, Joe van Niekerk and Tiaan Liebenberg all return to the bench.
Jean de Villiers is also nursing a groin strain, but is being managed and is expected to be ready by Saturday.
The core of a stable loose trio, a settled midfield combination, and a front row which by now is used to scrummaging down with each other are all combinations from which the Stormers will be hoping to gain some steady form.
The return of Jantjes is, according to Kobus van der Merwe, the return of the first-choice fullback, whilst Russell’s appearance on the bench will harness his reputation as an impact player, along as with accommodating his return from injury.
Van der Merwe says that dropped fullback, Gio Aplon, is by no means discarded.
“It’s his first year of Super 14, and you expect a player to make a few mistakes in his first year. But he remains a class player.”
Van der Merwe also noted that every time he has included Corn’ Uys in the side they have won.
Skipper Luke Watson also called for an increased patience in his side’s game in a bid to gain some consistency.
“There have been times where we have tried to play too expansively too early in the game.”
