Saracens, the London-based Guinness Premiership side, will have a strong All Black presence in their side, which will play against the Stormers at Newlands, on Sunday.

Chris Jack, the renowned All Black line-out jumper, will captain the side and interestingly has been named at blindside flank.

The Stormers will not be an unknown entity to Jack as he has played against the Cape Town Super 14 franchise several during his career while playing for the Crusaders.

He was also a member of the All Blacks’ 2007 World Cup squad. The seasoned All Black Justin Marshall will be doing duty at scrumhalf.

The 35-year-old 88-times capped New Zealander and another former Crusaders stalwart, has joined Saracens on a short-term contract after the club suffered a scrumhalf crisis as a result of injuries to Neil de Kock and Moses Rauluni.

De Kock, the former Stormers No 9, will nevertheless be in the Saracens tour party to Cape Town. Another New Zealander in the Saracens line-up is flyhalf Glen Jackson, a prolific points scorer.

Back in ‘The Land of the Long White Cloud’ some consider Jackson extremely unlucky never to have been capped for the ‘Silver Ferns’ as he found himself competing with Andrew Merhtens, Carlos Spencer and Dan Carter for the No 10 jersey.

Jackson is the leading points scorer of all time in the Premiership and like Jack and Marshall he’s also had experience of playing against the Stormers during his spell with the Chiefs.

Jack’s flanker partner will be Springbok Wikus van Heerden who will pack down on the open side.

He’s been in outstanding form since joining Saracens. The Saracens scrum will be propped by a former Newlands stalwart Cobus Visagie, who has been a stand-out performer for the Vicarage Road Stadium-based club.

His vast knowledge and scrummaging expertise has been acknowledged by the club who have appointed him as their scrummaging coach.

Saracens are currently coached by former Wallaby coach Eddie Jones and after his stint with Jake White’s World Cup-winning squad, he’ll have a vast knowledge of many of the Stormers’ players.

Prior to their Newlands engagement on Sunday, Saracens will be playing a European Challenge Cup match against Mont de Marsan on Friday, in France.

As a result Jones has split the squad into two and on Tuesday named the teams for the two upcoming fixtures.

Jones has clearly chosen the stronger combination for the Newlands clash as Mont de Marsan have been battling and have yet to win a pool match in the European Challenge Cup competition this season.

In stark contrast, Saracens have won all five pool matches this season and are well on track to advance through to the play-offs.

There are a few players who will be playing in both matches and the substitutes for both matches will only be named on match day.

The squad to play the Stormers will arrive in Cape Town on Thursday. Jones and the players who will be on duty in France on Friday will arrive in Cape Town on Saturday.

The Saracens team to play the Stormers reads:

Chris Wyles, Kameli Ratuvou, Ben Jacobs, Brad Barritt, Richard Haughton, Glen Jackson, Justin Marshall, Ben Skirving, Wikus Van Heerden, Chris Jack (captain), Tom Ryder, Hugh Vyvyan, Cobus Visagie, Andy Kyriacou and Nick Lloyd.
