Stormers v Brumbies Super Rugby Rd.4 Preview

on

South Africa’s Stormers host the tournament leading Brumbies in the third match on South African soil in Round 4 at Newlands.

The Stormers will go into this match with a point to prove after they were beaten at home last week by the Sharks.

The Brumbies also have something to prove in this as they say the real test will be on the road.

The Stormers have played three matches so far and they have won two and lost just the one last week. The Brumbies have also played three matches but they are unbeaten.

For this match the Stormers have made two changes to the side that lost last week and both are in the backline. Nic Groom will make his first start of the 2016 Super Rugby season at scrumhalf, with Jano Vermaak sitting out due to a neck injury, and he is joined in the starting line-up by wing Kobus van Wyk who is returning from an ankle injury.

Louis Schreuder and young speedster Leolin Zas are the two changes to the replacements bench.

The Brumbies meanwhile have named an unchanged team for this match. This means that the Brumbies backline has been unchanged for four weeks.

The Stormers have played the Brumbies 25 times since 1998 and the Stormers have won 13 or 52% of the matches. In Cape Town the Stormers played the Brumbies 12 times and won seven matches.

The average score when the Stormers play the Brumbies in Cape Town is Stormers 21 Brumbies 18.

The Bookies have given the Stormers a 2 point start for this Match – with an offer of up to £200 in Bonus bets. The Brumbies look a lot more settled and organised than the Stormers at this stage of the season. The Brumbies should win this by four.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 4 on the Red Button.

Average score: Stormers 19 Brumbies 24
