Out of the last five Super Rugby match between the Cape Town based Stormers
and the Durban based Sharks the Sharks have won three and the Stormers.

Notably while the Stormers have only won two of the last five matches they
have won the last two including the 19-21 victory in May earlier this year.

The Sharks have already won the South African Super Rugby conference and qualified
for the play offs. They have everything to play for this weekend though as they
can still secure home advantage.

The Sharks in third place have 46 points with 10 wins. The Crusaders are in
second place on 46 points as well and they too have 46 points but they are above
the Sharks thanks to 8 points in points differential.

The Crusaders play earlier in the round against the Highlanders and if the
Highlanders beat the Crusaders the Sharks will have plenty to play for. If the
Crusaders beat the Highlanders with a bonus point the Sharks will have to do
the same to the Stormers and by by 8 points more than the Crusaders beat the

Essentially the Sharks will know by midday on Friday morning (SA time) exactly
how much they need to beat the Stormers by. The problem for the Sharks is that
last week the Bulls went to Cape Town with the intention of securing a bonus
point win and left Cape Town without scoring a point. The Sharks have also lost
their last two matches.

The Stormers have played the Sharks 21 times in Super Rugby and they have won
11 matches and lost 10 matches. That gives the Stormers a record of winning
52% of their matches at all venues against the Sharks.

The average score when the Stormers play the Sharks is : Stormers 21 Sharks

The Stormers have had home advantage over the Sharks on 10 of the 21 occasions
between the teams and the Stormers have won 6 matches and lost four matches.
That gives the Stormers a record of winning 60% of their home matches against
the Sharks.

The average score when the Stormers play the Sharks at home is : Stormers 23
Sharks 19.

The Stormers have played 15 matches so far in 2014 and they have won 7 matches
and lost 8. They have played 7 matches at home and won 6 matches and lost one.
That gives them a record of winning 86% of their home matches.

The Sharks have also played 15 matches and they have won 10 matches. Away from
home they have played 7 matches and won four, lost three. That gives them a
record of winning 57% of their away matches.

As mentioned earlier the Sharks have lost their last two matches and in their
three of their five losses this season were against South African teams.

The Stormers on the other have won their last four matches which is the second
longest currently running streak in Super Rugby (the Waratahs are on 6). Of
the Stormers 7 wins this year three of them have been over SA teams.

The Stormers have made one change for this match with Springbok Tiaan Liebenberg
take over the No.2 jersey from the injured Deon Fourie.

The Sharks have rotated their team and unlike last week they have started with
their Springboks and Francois Steyn has replaced Tim Swiel at number 10 while
19 year old Thomas du Toit starts at loosehead having made his debut last week.

Ryan Kankowski is back at eighthman after withdrawing from last week’s game
with a groin strain, and White has bolstered the starting line-up with three
Boks who played off the bench last week, Willem Alberts, Jannie du Plessis and
brother and captain Bismarck.

The Bookies
have given the Sharks a 1 point start for this Match
– with an
offer of a FREE $250.00 Bet.
While the Sharks will be desperate
to win the Stormers are in form and have been tough to beat at home all year.
The Stormers should edge this by two.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in
the UK on Sky Sports 4/HD on the Red Button.
