Chiefs beat Stormers In Cape Town




The fourth and final Super Rugby quarter final is in Cape Town South Africa where the Stormers host the Chiefs.

The Stormers kick off and the match is underway.

1.00: Stephen Donald makes a break and the Chiefs almost start with a try. He is stopped short and the Chiefs move the ball wide but go into touch.

2.00: Siya Kolisi is injured which pauses the match. He limps off. The Chiefs win the line out and win a penalty for the Stormers going off their feet.

3.00: The Chiefs will go for posts.Damian McKenzie lines up the kick and nails it. Chiefs lead.

4.00: The game gets very loose and the Stormers get the ball into the Chiefs 22. They go forward but Pieter-Steph du Toit loses the ball forward.

7.00: Chiefs are testing the Stormers. They press forward but get pushed into touch. The Stormers win a line out and attack on the half way line.

9.00: The Stormers up the attack and work the ball into the Chiefs 22 and get pushed into touch. They steal the Chiefs line out and attack on the 5m line.

10.00: Vincent Koch goes over the line and the TRY is awarded.

11.00: Robert du Preez adds the conversion.

14.00: The Chiefs have upped their  speed and they attack down the wing and Sam McNicol scores in the corner. TRY!

15.00: McKenzie takes the conversion and nails it.

16.30: The Chiefs get the ball on attack, McKenzie passes out to James Lowe and he offloads to Brad Lowe who scores the second TRY!

17.00: McKenzie adds the conversion.

20.00: The Chiefs attack on the wing again but the Stormers stop the attack and there is a knock on.

22.00: The Stormers win a line out and Schalk Burger breaks out but is caught. The Chiefs turn the ball over and kick deep. The Stormers take the ball into touch.

23.00: The Chiefs win the line out and chip over the Stormers. There is a mad dash and the Stormers get the ball, Jaco Taute tries to clear but it is charged down and Tom Sanders dives on the ball and scores. TRY!

24.00: McKenzie takes the conversion kick and nails it.

27.00: Penalty to the Chiefs. McKenzie lines up the kick. He nails it. Stephen Donald has been replaced due to injury – right shoulder.

30.00: The Chiefs run the ball into the Stormers 22. They go through the phases but they concede a penalty.

33.00: The Chiefs attack out wide and James Lowe chips the ball ahead, he pauses expecting the ball to go out but it comes back in and he chases the ball and scores. TRY!

35.00: McKenzie takes the conversion kick from out wide. He nails it perfectly. Great kick.

37.00: The Stormers work the ball through 9 phases on attack and they get into the Chiefs 22. The Stormers win a penalty. They tap it and run.

38.00: 7 phases on the Chiefs 22 and then Vincent Koch crashes over for his second TRY!

39.00: Du Preez adds the conversion.

40.00: The siren sounds. The ball goes into touch.

42.00: The Chiefs press the Stormers back into their 22 and Robert du Preez clears the ball into touch.

44.00: The Chiefs win the ball on the Stormers scrum. They run the ball at pace and go wide and score in the corner. Set piece (tighthead) try. McKenzie scores in the corner. TRY!

46.00: McKenzie takes the conversion from out wide. He misses.

49.00: The Chiefs look to be in again as Nathan Harris scores in the corner. He is however called back for a forward pass.

51.00: Frans Malherbe comes on for the Stormers.  The scrum collapses.

52.00: Penalty to the Stormers from the scrum. The Stormers clear the ball into touch.

53.00: The Stormers work the ball into the Chiefs half but the Chiefs turn the ball over and McKenzie sends it well back into Stormers territory.

55.00: The Stormers get some attacking ball and they start to make ground in the Chiefs 22. Burger sells a dummy and almost gets through. The Stormers win a penalty.

57.00: The Stormers keep on the attack and keep the Chiefs under pressure in the Chiefs 22.

58.00: Jones sends a wide pass out to Zas but he is double tackled into touch in the corner. The Stormers are called back for a penalty. They choose the line out but the ball goes dead. Chiefs scrum.

60.00:  The Stormers scrum collapses and has to be reset. Siegfried Fisi’ihoi and Mitchell Graham come on for the Chiefs. The Chiefs win the scrum and clear the ball.

62.00: The Stormers win the scrum and attack on the Chiefs 22.

65.00: Cruden dabs the ball through and and James Lowe almost gets to the ball but knocks on.

66.00: Penalty to the Stormers. They kick for touch.

67.00: De Allende offloads to Jaco Taute – it looks forward but they play on – and he is caught. The Stormers keep the attack going and get to the line.

68.00: The Stormers try to muscle their way over the line but in the process they concede a penalty. The Chiefs clear.

70.00: Pieter-Steph du Toit is replaced by JD Schickerling.

71.00: Penalty to the Stormers for slowing the ball down. They kick for touch. The next Chiefs player to slow the ball down will be carded. Shaun Stevenson comes on for Aaron Cruden.

71.00: The Stormers win the line out and go for the line. Nizaam Carr gets the ball and dives over to score. TRY!

72.00: Brandon Thomson adds the conversion.

73.00: The Chiefs work the ball into the Stormers 22. They get an advantage and then a penalty. Chiefs kick to the corner.

74.00: The Chiefs win the line out and use the maul. They drive towards the posts and go over and score. TRY! Hika Elliot.

77.00: McKenzie takes the conversion and the fans have started leaving. He nails it. 21 points from McKenzie.

78.00: The Stormers take a short 22 drop out and it goes straight to Retallick. The Chiefs attack in the Stormers 22.  Tevita Koloamatangi slips through and scores. TRY!

79.00: McKenzie adds the conversion.

80.00: The Chiefs break out again and Tawera Kerr-Barlow slides over and scores. TRY No.8.

81.00: McKenzie slots the conversion.
