Sunwolves lock Hitoshi Ono has been cited for alleged foul play during his team’s Super Rugby loss to the Brumbies in Canberra.

Ono is alleged to have contravened 10.4.a. Striking with head during the match between the Brumbies and Sunwolves at GIO Stadium in Canberra on 28 May 2016.

The referee for the match, Jaco Van Heerden, awarded a yellow card for the incident which occurred in the 38th minute.

Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.
