Sunwolves v Cheetahs Super Rugby Rd.3 Preview

on

Super Rugby makes history in Saturday’s third match as it will be the first ever Super Rugby match to be played in Singapore and is between the Sunwolves and the Cheetahs.

The Sunwolves played their first match two weeks ago in Tokyo and had a bye last week so they return to Super Rugby a new venue which is also their second home.

In their first Super Rugby match the Sunwolves were more competitive than a lot had been expecting but the Lions wore them down eevntually. They will have had more time together over the bye and can be expected to be better side.

The Cheetahs lost their opening match by the Jagures (33-34) but in the second round their set piece vastly improved and their defence frustrated the Stormers. If they can continue to improve at the same level they will be tough to beat.

The Sunwolves have retained the starting line up that played the Lions and made just two changes to the replacements bench. Takuma Asahara and Mifiposeti Paea are the new players on the bench.

As a result Francois Uys is included as vice-captain and Henco Venter replaces Neill Jordaan as number eight.

Charles Marias and Ox Nche switch places with Nche in the starting line-up and Marais on the bench.

Jacques du Toit will be starting as hooker, with Torsten van Jaarsveld on the replacements bench.

Maks van Dyk moves to the bench, while Johan Coetzee will be making his Super Rugby debut, starting as tighthead prop.

Neil Marias will be starting as flyhalf with Fred Zeilinga on the bench and Sias Ebersohn comes into the starting line up to replaced Clayton Blommetjies at fullback.

Hilton Lobberts comes into the team on the bench.

The Bookies have given the Sunwolves a 7 point start for this Match – with an offer of a FREE $150 BET. The Cheetahs should have too much experience for the Sunwolves in this match. The Cheetahs should win by 6.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 4.
