It’s Super 14 week six and our Clash of the weekend will be at Loftus Versfeld, where the Hurricanes face the Blue Bulls.

These are two of the form sides this year and just six points separate the teams. The Bulls are sixth and while they have had most of their games at home they have had their BYE so the fact that they still lead the South African teams after their BYE shows they are to be reckoned with.

Last week the Hurricanes needed a late Hosea Gear try to beat the Stormers in their last outing. The Hurricanes have beefed up their scrum to match the Bulls forwards but Bulls rarely lose at home

At the top of the table the Crusaders host the Cats who are second from the bottom in the first match of the weekend. This match sees the highest points scorers face the lowest points scorers so expect a very one sided match with the Crusaders picking up five points.

Right at the bottom of the log the Western Force host the NSW Waratahs on Friday. The Force are the only team to have not won a match so far. It would seem unlikely that they will get their first win this week as the Waratahs were pretty ruthless last week against the Cats running in seven tries to hit the 50-point mark. The Force will have their hands full trying to contain Mat Rogers at fly half.

ACT Brumbies play another away match against the Blues in Auckland. Most of the Brumbies matches have been away and they are still third on the log. The Blues however have yet to click and they are third from the bottom.

The spice in this match is that ex Brumbies coach Dave Nucifora now coaches the Blues. The Sharks visit the House of Pain, Carisbrook Dunedin and without their top points scorer Percy Montgomery who has been sent home for a bit of rest, they will struggle. The Highlanders have lost their first choice number 10 Nick Evans but that should make little difference to the result.

The last match of the weekend is again the Stormers who host the SA newcomers, The Cheetahs. This match has the added incentive in that the lowest place SA team will be relegated in 2007 which makes your home matches that bit more important.
