Teichmann set to replace Smit as Sharks CEO

John Smit's Sharks are allegedly in financial trouble

John Smit will leave the Sharks later this year

Former Springboks and Sharks captain Gary Teichmann looks set to replace current CEO John Smit in October.

Smit has announced that he will step down as Sharks CEO in October and according to sources in SA Teichmann’s apppointment could be ratified on Monday.

An official announcement is not expected in the near future as a number of Sharks board members are currently overseas.

Teichmann won 42 caps for the Springboks between 1995 and 1999 and is a well supported businessmen in Durban

The 49-year-old former Sharks captain is currently a director at Teichmann Plant and Civils.
