Thomson returns as Highlanders change four

The Highlanders have made four changes to the starting XV that played the Hurricanes in Invercargill on Friday 13 May for this week’s clash with the Lions.


In the forwards Jarrad Hoeata moves back into lock replacing Tom Donnelly who has a back injury.


Adam Thomson comes back into the starting XV following his rib injury sustained against the Chiefs in Hamilton.


Thomson will play his 50th game for the Highlanders this weekend.


Returning from injury, Siale Piutau starts on the left wing, in place of Telusa Veainu who moves out of the 22.


Shaun Treeby also makes a return from injury, replacing Matt Saunders who moves to the reserves.


The Highlanders have also revealed that Elliot Dixon and David Te Moana could return next week
