Tony Brown replaces Slade in Highlanders squad

The Highlanders have confirmed that Colin Slade’s Super Rugby season is over due to a broken jaw and will be replaced by Tony Brown.

Slade broke his jaw after a head clash in the first half playing against the Rebels in Melbourne in Round 9.

The impact of the head clash broke Slade jaw and the injury comes just weeks after Slade had returned from a broken jaw earlier this season.

Slade broke his jaw playing for the Highlanders in a pre-season warm up and missed the first six weeks of Super Rugby.

The Highlanders say that the expected recovery time for Slade will be approximately 10 weeks which puts him past the Super Rugby final.

Tony Brown has temporarily been brought back into the Highlanders squad of 32 as cover for Slade.
