The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd have signed a one year contract with the Puma’s tighthead prop Rassie van Vuuren.
Van Vuuren, who is a destructive scrummager with excellent ball skills, played in more than 20 matches for the Pumas in 2007 scoring five tries in the Currie Cup.
The 125-kg prop is a product of Ho’rskool Nelspruit where he played Craven week rugby for the Pumas at hooker in 2003.
After school Van Vuuren made the switch to tighthead and played for the Lions’ under 20 and 21 teams before he jetted of to France to represent Gaillac.
In 2007 he made his provincial debut for the Pumas.
Van Vuuren will be in the Bulls’ initial Super 14 group where he will compete with Rayno Gerber, Richard Bands and Werner Kruger for ‘n starting berth in the champions’ run-on XV.
