Last week the Stormers lost to the Crusaders but it wasn’t heavy defeat. In fact they only lost the match 11-7 which is not bad at all for a South African team in Christchurch.

2.00: The Waratahs get an almost perfect start as they get a breakthough but are called back.



5.00: Lachie Turner shows some great soccer skills to score the first try of the match after being denied a try earlier on.



6.00: Daniel Halangahu adds the extras with the conversion.

 

14.00: The Waratahs swing the ball out to Tuqiri but he runs into a brick wall of defence.

 

18.00: The Stormers gets some good attacking ball as Bobo makes a break. Luke Watson gains more ground but as the ball goes to ground the Stormers give away a free kick.

 

24.00:The Waratahs give away a kickable penalty so Peter Grant takes the kick and the ball goes in off the posts.

 

 27.00: Wylie Human comes off for blood after a head injury- his white shirt is covered in blood.

 

32.00: The Waratahs continue to attack but the Stormers defence holds strong.

 

33.00: The Stormers (Luke Watson) give a penalty away so Daniel Halangahu takes the kick but the ball hits the post and bounces out.

 

37.00: The Stormers work the ball into the Waratahs 25. Sam Norton-Knight misses a pass and knocks it on which gives the Waratahs a scare.

 

40.03: The siren goes for half time. There is time for a scrum. And the another.

 

42.00: The Stormers give a penalty away so Lachie Turner has a shot at goal. He misess. Half time.

The second half is underway.

 

44.00: Poor disciplne from the Waratahs costs them a penalty and then a further 10m for not retreating fast enough. The Stomrers opt for the scrum.

 

48.00: The Waratahs come very close to scoring as Lote Tuqiri gets a breakthrough but  Lachie Turner fails to get the pass cleanly as the pass was poor.

 

49.00: Timana Tahu comes on for the Waratahs.

 

51.00 : The Waratahs get a penalty so Daniel Halangahu takes the shot at goal but misses.

 

54.00: The Stormers come close to scoring a try but Phil Waugh manages to get back and secure the ball.

 

60.00: The Waratahs look to inject something into their game as Kurtley Beale comes on.

 

64.00: The Stormers get a kickable penalty so Peter Grant takes the kick and slots it.

 

68.00: Good continuity for the Stormers sees them into attacking space. The Waratahs however turn the ball over and run it into the Stormers half.

 

69.00: The Stormers give away a penalty so Daniel Halangahu takes the kick and misses. By a mile.

 

75.00: Both teams seem somewhat happy to take the points and lack any real momentum.

 

75.00: Out of the Blue Kurtley Beale puts in a chip kick for Lachie Turner who again shows great soccer skills to score the Waratahs second try.

 

76.00: Daniel Halangahu takes the conversion and misses.

 

78.00: The Waratahs get another break-through and look certain to score but Damien Fitzpatrick knocks the ball on in front of the posts.

 

80.00: The Stormers keep the ball alive and put together 9 phases but a bad pass goes in and the ball gets turned over and the Waratahs boot it out.
