The Chiefs will be wanting to bounce back from a dissapointing start to their Super 14 against the Blues. In the opening round they only managed to score one try and that was from a quick tap.

5.00: The missed an early chance to take the lead from a penalty but Stephen Donald’s kick hit the post and missed.


11.00 : The Waratahs have been given a warning by Referee Marius Jonker for constant infringements.


13.00: Liam Messam scores the first try of the match and Stephen Donald misses a sitter almost in front of the posts so there is no conversion


20.00: The Waratahs are on attack near the Chiefs line but Phil Waugh spills the ball forward.


26.00: Sitiveni Sivivatu makes a break from the half way line cutting through the Tahs line. He does not appear to dot the ball down but the try is awarded. (Rocky Elsom’s knee appears to be under the ball)


28.00: Stephen Donald converts the try.


30.00: The Chiefs give a penalty away so Kurtley Beale has a shot at goal from about 45m out and misses.


35.00: The Chiefs press hard at the Waratahs but the defence holds strong.


40.16: The Siren goes as the Chiefs knock forward.

41.00: The Chiefs have an explosive start.


42.00: Richard Kahui powers over the line – possibly injuring himself in the process.


43.00 : Stephen Donald snuffs the conversion – almost hits the corner flag.


The Chiefs are now in the hunt for a bonus point try.


46.00: Ben Jacobs cuts a whole in the Chiefs defence and scores the Tahs first try.


47.00: Kurtley Beale’s conversion hits the post and bounces out.


60.00: Lachie Turner’s two kicks go out on the full and both times they are called back to the 25.


62.00: The Waratahs kicking game plan is just not working for them. Kicks constantly go out on the full and they keep having to come back.


68.00: The Chiefs put the Tahs line under big pressure and Stephen Donald knocks the ball on as he tries to put the ball down on the line.


72.00: Sam Harris gets an intercept pas and scores a try under the posts for the Waratahs.


73.00: Kurtley Beale converts and the pressure is on for the last seven minutes of the match.


75.00: The Waratahs make a break and Lote Tuqiri crashes over for the try. The TMO agrees.


76.00: Kurtley Beale misses the conversion and the scores are level.


78.00: The Chiefs are awarded a kickable penalty and Stephen Donald takes the kicks it for the win.


80.02 : The Chiefs get the ball back & kick the ball out to win the match.
