Welsh Rugby Club the Ospreys are believed to be targeting the signature of an All Black centre in the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Blues and New Zealand backs Isaia Toeava and Ben Atiga are thought to be at the top of their shopping list according to the BBC.

Toeava has earned 15 All Black caps and was part of the New Zealand World Cup squad, while Atiga picked up an All Black cap four years ago.

A benefit is that both players can also cover at full-back.

Gavin Henson and Sonny Parker are the Ospreys’ first-choice centres but the Ospreys are looking to sign a first class player as cover.

Should either of Toeava or Atiga sign with Ospreys they will not be lonely as they would be joined by All Blacks Justin Marshall, Filo Tiatia and Marty Holah who are already in the Ospreys squad.

Under current rules the Welsh region is allowed six non-Welsh players in their squads and they are looking to boost an already star studded line up after the disappointment of this season’s Heineken Cup quarter-final exit.
