The Force got another draw on Friday as the Cats staged a magnificent 2nd half comeback ending with Wylie Human diving over in the corner in the last minute.

The Cats did get the first points of the match but this seemed to wake the Force up as the Force ran in three tries in the first half.

Scott Staniforth was the star of the first half running in two tries. Cameron Shepherd extended the lead each time with the conversion.

In the first half there wasn’t much for the 11300 strong crowd to cheer for from a Cats point of view. Jacque Fourie had a good run passing to Earl Rose but the next pass went forward and the opportunity had been missed. This was about the only highlight for the Cats in the first half.

The Cats got off to a perfect start in the second half however as Kleinjan Tromp scored the Cats first try of the night. His try was unconverted.

Staniforth continued his fantastic form in the second half scoring another try. The Cats didn’t lay down and die however and they scored another try in the corner as Delarey Du Preez dived over for his second try in as many weeks.

Cameron Shepherd kept the pressure on slotting two penalties one from just inside the half way line.

Cats replacement Jano Vermaak got the home ground to their feet as he covered half the field. That run opened the way for Jacque Fourie to score under the posts. Pretorius didn’t miss the conversion.

With 10 minutes to go the Cats piled on the pressure and this paid off as the Cats got their own bonus point try from Willem Stoltz. Again Pretorius got the conversion cutting the Force’s lead to 5 points.

The Cats comeback continued and as the hooter blew the Cats were awarded a penalty and they swung the ball wide to Wylie Human who dived over in the corner but Pretorius was unable to convert.
