Emirates Western Force number 8 Scott Fava has been called-up to the Wallabies squad for the remainder of the European Spring Tour.

The inclusion of the powerful backrower, who replaces the injured Hugh McMeniman, brings the total of Emirates Western Force players on tour to eight.

Fava, a surprise omission when the squad was announced early last month, said he was thrilled to be back in the Wallabies camp.

‘I was disappointed to be left out first time around so this is great news, although I feel a little sorry for Hugh,’ he said.

‘This is a great opportunity and I’ll be doing my best over there to ensure I’m in the fore of the selectors’ thinking in the lead up to the World Cup.’

Fava has five Wallaby Test Caps, including a stand-out performance against the Springboks in July. He was also a member of Australia‘s Commonwealth Games Sevens team in Melbourne.

The other Emirates Western Force players currently with the Wallabies are Brendan Cannon, Matt Giteau, Tai McIsaac, Drew Mitchell, Nathan Sharpe, Cameron Shepherd and Scott Staniforth.

Both Shepherd (2) and Giteau were tryscorers in last weekend’s 29-all draw with Wales.
