Reds beat Waratahs in Sydney

The Queensland Reds have won three of their last four Super Rugby matches against the NSW Waratahs (L1) including the last two meetings, after losing 11 consecutive games against them prior.

The Queensland Reds will be aiming for back-to-back away victories against the NSW Waratahs in Super Rugby for the first time since July 2013, following their 46-14 win in their most recent such fixture (March 2021).

• The NSW Waratahs will be looking to log back-to-back Super Rugby wins for the first time since August 2020 after opening their 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season with a 40-10 win over the Fijian Drua; the last time the NSW Waratahs scored 40+ points in consecutive Super Rugby games was in July 2016.
• The Tahs have lost their last eight Super Rugby games against fellow Australian sides – their longest-ever losing streak in such fixtures – while the Reds have won nine of their last 10 Australian derbies (L1).

• Jake Gordon gained 20 metres per carry from his five carries in the opening round of the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific campaign, more than any other player in the competition.
• Jock Campbell and Izaia Perese each beat six defenders in the opening round of the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season, more than any other players in the competition.
• Angus Bell has scored one try in three of his last four Super Rugby games and finished with one try and one try assist in the opening round of the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
• Harry Wilson made 15 carries and 16 tackles in Round 1 of the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific campaign, one of five players to make 10+ in both categories; it’s the fourth time in his last five appearances that he’s achieved the double.
